Dear Maple Elementary Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! My name is Renee Castanon, and I am honored to begin my third year as the proud principal of Maple Elementary School. This year also marks my 28th year in education, and I remain as passionate about serving students and families as I was when I first entered the classroom.

Over the past two years, I have been inspired by the kindness, resilience, and dedication found throughout our Maple community. Our students continue to grow and achieve, supported by an outstanding staff and families who are committed to their success. It is a privilege to lead a school where every child is valued, encouraged, and challenged to reach their full potential.

Our theme this year is “Growing Kind Hearts, Strong Minds, and Bright Futures.” At Maple, we are committed to nurturing the whole child by creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success. I look forward to continuing our work together and welcome your ideas, feedback, and involvement throughout the year.

Welcome Message from the Assistant Principal

Dear Maple Elementary Families,

My name is Veronica Joya and I am honored to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Maple Elementary School. It is a true privilege to join a school community that values kindness, growth, and academic excellence.

With 30 years of experience in education—as a classroom teacher, instructional leader, and passionate advocate for student success—I am committed to supporting every child’s learning journey. I believe that strong relationships between home and school are key to helping our students thrive, and I look forward to working together with our dedicated staff, families, and students to make this school year a joyful and successful one.

As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, I am filled with excitement and optimism for all the opportunities ahead. At Maple Elementary, our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where every student feels seen, heard, and empowered to achieve their best. I’m excited to be part of a team that shares this vision, and I can't wait to get to know each of you throughout the year.
